MAGELLAN DESIGN was founded in 2000. Registered in England, it started life as a graphic design agency – design for print. The majority of clients were located in East Anglia and their continuing business is very much appreciated. By 2004 our diversified activities included large format display systems, we were the first company to introduce TWIST banner display systems in the Bury St Edmunds area. By 2005 we had extended our services to building and hosting websites and designing interactive presentations.
It was clear in 2006 that the business should be expanded further with suitably larger premises. Moving our head office and main studio to the South of France in 2007 may seem a little extreme, but the resultant benefits confirmed that the move had made perfect sense. Advances in modern technology, which we embrace and employ, enable us to work from virtually any location.
We are now working on dynamic websites, sites that use databases, search facilities, secure log-in and full e-commerce sites. This year, 2009, we will launch our on-line training packages. This is something new our in-house designers and developers are currently working on for one of our much-valued clients, which is very exciting.
Whilst the majority of our business is conducted over the Internet, there is no substitute for face-to-face meetings. Colleagues who are often working in the UK visit clients on a regular basis. In fact, since moving our head office to France we see more of our clients now than before! We look forward to new and exciting opportunities.
